St.Jacob’s B.Ed College, Kazhakkuttom, Trivandrum

Distinguished guests,colleagues and my dear students,

I am happy to present this brief report before this gathering. This is the 5^th report of this college.

2009-2010 session was started with an inaugural function held on 21-10-2009.Rev.Fr.Pancretius inaugurated the course.

46 students in the optional viz, English, Malayalam, Physical Science, Natural Science and Social science were admitted. Though the number was less, we could get a better stuff among students admitted from various colleges. We have now 8 members in the teaching staff including the principal and 4 in the office. They are

Smt.Nirmala Pereira (Full Time Menial)

Smt Baby Reshmi (Lecturer in Mathematics) and Smt.Chitra B.K (Lecturer in Physical Science) left this institution and guest lecturers were engaged in their places.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Normally we start the days academic work with the morning assembly. The class time was from 9.30 am to 4.00pm .My teachers sincerely engaged the classes uninterrupted and did justice to their duty.

Locally available eminent educationalists were invited to introduce to my students and deliver lecturer. To mention a few of such dignitaries, Mrs Nirmala Joseph, Dr Iris Coelho,Fr Shaji Silva, Sri.M.P Sreedharan, Fr Sunny Jose, Dr A Sukumaran Nair, Mrs A.R.Lalitha, Dr Benchamin were among them.

Teaching practice was conducted in the neighbouring schools where from these students could get full co-operation and rich experiences. I ‘m thankful to the heads of these schools.

Model Examinations and Terminal examinations were conducted before the first semester and second semester university examination. The second semester university examination commence on 26^th November 2010.The result of the 1^st semester examination is yet to be released. Practical Examination Board headed by Dr Ester Gladis, Principal – Mar Theophilus Training College visited our College and expressed their full appreciation of the work of my students.
